About the role

The role of a Food & Beverage Expert at Target provides a unique opportunity to enhance the shopping experience for guests and colleagues alike. This position focuses on ensuring product freshness, accurate pricing, and efficient operations across various departments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, prioritizing their needs over tasks.
• Execute Food & Beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, and in-stock routines.
• Follow all food safety requirements and use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
• Work with vendors to manage salesfloor merchandise displays and maintain organized backroom space.
• Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to Target’s policies and procedures.
• Use your knowledge of the store’s offerings to solve issues and improve guest experiences.
• Comply with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws as applicable.
• Use appropriate PPE and follow equipment control guidelines.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up, and drive-up transactions.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming manner and thank them for choosing Target.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old (Bakery Only).
• Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Quickly resolve guest questions and maintain attention to detail.
• Capable of remaining focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
• Knowledge of common allergens and ability to work in an environment where they may be present.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 44 pounds.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
• Experience with food and grocery operations.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
