Duties
This position has responsibility to assist in the operations of MWR Food and Beverage businesses, to create an attractive and friendly environment, and to maintain product quality, cleanliness, and inventory. Performs front end duties to include:
- Welcomeing customers
- Maintain product knowledge and assist with selection of products available
- Operating Point of Sale register, collecting cash, credit cards, and responsible for own change fund
- Reconciling cash drawer at end of shift and turning in sales records, cash, checks, and other supporting documentation
- Preparing, packaging, and serving made-to-order beverages, snacks, and easily assembled or prepared food items
- Setting up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold food and beverages including desserts and condiments
- Aiding customers in the selection and purchase of various food and beverage items
- Prepares and provides quality food and beverage products consistent with established recipe and presentation standards
- May be required to serve food and beverages for buffet style or catered events
- Properly cleans equipment, performs simple preventative maintenance associated with equipment cleaning, and maintains customer service area in a clean and appealing manner
- Fulfills store policies and procedures for operational flow, established standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products, and maintains awareness pertaining to inventory waste or shrink
- Performs tasks with several steps or sequences of tasks such as: Taking periodic stock counts and/or participating in taking of inventories
- Performing other related duties as required or assigned that may include but not limited to: Maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, operating Point of Sale register according to standard cash control procedures, making correct change, sweeping and mopping floors, disposing of food wastes and trash, assisting of unloading and storing of supplies
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends and have excellent customer service skills
Qualifications
- Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory
- Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques
- Possess knowledge of basic sanitation principles
- Possess the capability to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach
- Must have the ability to read and understand written material, follow instructions
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete Food Handler’s Training within 30 days of appointment
- Customer service experience
Preferred
- One-year or more experience in food service or related industry
- Possess Food Handlers Certificate
