Food Account Manager IND - West
About the role
The position covers Southern California (Santa Maria and areas south of it), Arizona, and Hawaii. The selected candidate must be based in Southern California (LA or San Diego). The Food Account Manager IND - West will establish and execute field sales strategies that support revenue targets, growth objectives, marketing initiatives, and strategic plans by managing territory accounts to meet or exceed division revenue targets. The role involves planning, organizing, and executing programs to generate new prospects and maintain full sales ownership of territory accounts, working collaboratively with AMs, BDMs, RSMs, CAMs, Marketing, CSO, and Scientific Affairs as a fully‑functional member of the Food sales team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow existing business while generating new business and revenue through selling and placing instruments and reagents.
- Achieve territory revenue targets and growth goals (at least 100% A/B achievement).
- Work with Sales & Marketing management to develop new or improved sales/support tools.
- Understand market trends, key investment drivers, customer challenges, and the customer journey.
- Identify key competitors, players, and their supply chains.
- Adopt a team approach and work with the team to pursue common goals.
- Support and encourage team collaboration to create a unified message/response with FSE, FAS, AM, BDM, CAM, and Management for customers.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required OR HS diploma/GED plus 4 additional years in a B2B sales environment, or 4 additional years of experience in a food safety laboratory or operations setting, with the ability to build and maintain customer relationships, manage complex accounts, and achieve sales objectives. Additionally, 2+ years of experience in a B2B sales environment or 2+ years in a food safety laboratory/operations role is required, with the same relationship‑building, account‑management, and sales‑objective capabilities. A food safety sales background is highly preferred.
