Folder Gluer Operator
Description
The Nightshift Gluer Operator at Smurfit Westrock's facility in Claremont, NC is responsible for performing and documenting quality audits, verifying job completion, understanding job sheets, checking job specifications to cartons, making-ready machines, preparing gluers for upcoming jobs, operating gluers during jobs, maintaining gluers between jobs, monitoring carton quality, maintaining materials for production, completing necessary reports, maintaining housekeeping to standards set by management, and performing additional job duties assigned by the department manager.
Requirements
- Must comply with all workplace rules, policies and procedures, including SQF, safety, and other relevant guidelines.
- Must wear appropriate protective equipment, including safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, safety shoes, hair and beard nets, bump caps, and level 7 sleeves, as applicable.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in basic measurement devices and testing devices, such as calculators, tape measures, rulers, Chatillon, E J Caddy, Mettler PM 480, Fluke IR thermometers, and be able to pass the Farnsworth Munell-100 Hue Test.
- Must possess general mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform quality checks on cartons being processed.
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of cartons.
- Lifting anything over 50lbs requires a team lift and a device to assist in lifting the load. No individual should lift over 50lbs.
