FOIA Analyst

About the role

The FOIA Analyst position provides support for the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) program. This role involves assisting with responding to public requests for information, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with FOIA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in responding to public requests for information under the FOIA
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to FOIA requests
  • Evaluate and respond to FOIA inquiries from the public and government agencies
  • Ensure all FOIA requests are handled in accordance with federal regulations and agency policies
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and effective processing of FOIA requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Public Administration, etc.)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role supporting FOIA requests
  • Strong knowledge of FOIA regulations and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

  • Experience working with government databases and systems
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
  • Knowledge of FOIA exemptions and their application

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with FOIA software and tools

Pay
