POSITION SUMMARY

The Foam & Coatings Foreman is a skilled field role responsible for the safe, high-quality application of spray polyurethane foam and elastomeric/industrial coating systems on commercial and industrial roofing projects. This is a hands-on craft role for an applicator who knows how to read a scope of work, operate and repair a rig, and lay down material that passes inspection the first time. The right candidate is meticulous about prep, deliberate about spray technique, and uncompromising on safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply spray polyurethane foam and elastomeric/industrial coatings to manufacturer specification on commercial and industrial roofing projects.

  • Prep substrates for application including cleaning, priming, masking, and addressing penetrations, flashings, and transitions.

  • Operate and maintain spray rigs, proportioners, hoses, and spray guns; perform daily equipment checks and troubleshoot common issues in the field.

  • Follow all PPE, respirator, and confined-space safety protocols and complete a JHA on every job, with zero tolerance for shortcuts.

  • Document each job with substrate prep notes, batch numbers, mil thickness readings, weather conditions, and photos, submitted by end of workday.

  • Cookordinate with the operations manager to manage material usage, hit production targets, and keep jobs on budget.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Experience: - 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience applying spray polyurethane foam (SPF) and elastomeric/industrial coatings on commercial or industrial roofing projects. - Working knowledge of major SPF and coating manufacturers (e.g., NCFI, BASF, Carlisle/Henry, Gaco, Versaflex, or similar) and their application specifications. - Proficient operating high-pressure plural-component spray equipment and proportioners (e.g., Graco Reactor, PMC, or similar). - Experience leading or training a junior applicator or helper. - Ability to read and interpret mil thickness readings, density checks, and manufacturer data sheets. - Strong working knowledge of OSHA safety standards including fall protection, respiratory protection, and confined-space entry. - Valid driver's license required; clean driving record preferred.

  • Preferred Experience: - SPFA certification (Roofing Installer or higher) or equivalent manufacturer training. - Experience on industrial substrates including metal decking, concrete, and built-up roof recover applications. - Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds repeatedly (drums, hoses, equipment).

  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and remain on feet for extended periods on commercial and industrial roof systems.

  • Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator and PPE for extended periods during spray operations.

  • Comfort working in elevated spaces and around plural-component chemicals.
