About the role

Responsible for safe and efficient car inspection and repair at an FMO location. Responsibilities include ensuring safe performance of duties, instructing and training employees, fostering positive relations, maintaining operational efficiency, controlling expenses, and serving as a liaison to host railroad, AAR, and FRA.

Responsibilities

  • Affirm compliance with Safety Policies.
  • Instruct and train employees on proper inspection and repair of railcars in line with current Company and Industry standards.
  • Foster positive employee relations and ensure adherence to Human Resource Policy and Procedures.
  • Maintain efficient and productive operation aligned with Company goals.
  • Control expenses related to location's operations and distribution of labor.
  • Serve as local liaison to host railroad, AAR and FRA. Supervise employees represented by labor organizations.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (AA) desirable.
  • One to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Job Requirements

  • Both general office environment with moderate noise level, and occasional outdoor environment with infrequent high noise level.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently sit and use hands for various tasks.
  • Occasionally lift and/or transport up to 10 pounds, and infrequently lift/transport over 25 pounds.
  • Correctable vision required for visual capabilities and focus adjustment.
