FM-Fabricator/Welder

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, experienced welder to join our team as a Fabricator/Welder. You will construct and manufacture metal parts and products, producing clean, polished welds while following blueprints and determining material measurements. Your work will be used in later assembly processes, and you are responsible for the quality of your output, including performing simple tests to ensure weld strength and tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and manufacture metal parts for medium and heavy-duty trucks, forklifts, tractors/trailers, and other small equipment
• Assist in and work independently on repairing and maintaining diesel trucks, power equipment, and other mechanical equipment
• Follow blueprints to ensure exact specifications of output
• Produce strong, clean welds using MIG welding, plasma, and oxy-acetylene torch
• Test output to ensure strength and tolerance of welds
• Perform general equipment troubleshooting and maintenance, including diagnosing malfunctions and performing repairs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work area in compliance with all relevant federal, state, local, and company guidelines
• Assist with road calls/repairs as necessary
• Record time spent, parts used, and repairs/maintenance conducted in the computer system

Requirements

• 2 years of experience as a diesel engine/heavy truck Fabricator/Welder
• Prior experience welding, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding, TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals
• Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of common welding symbols
• Must be safety-minded and able to work well with others as well as independently
• Fleet truck experience required
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening (safety-sensitive position)

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, crouch, and occasionally lift heavy equipment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout an 8-hour workday
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 70 lbs
• 100% standing, bending, and stooping during the workday
• 85% of the workday is outside in extreme temperatures (cold in winter, hot in summer)
• Must be physically fit and MVR-approved for driving on company business
