Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, and test of fluid components and systems, propulsion systems, and mechanical systems
  • Integration of materials and processes, manufacturing, systems test, operations, and systems engineering
  • Projects may include aspects of applied fluid and mechanical engineering, subject to business unit objectives

Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, or other relevant engineering field
  • Degree must have been earned within the last year, with the ability to start by Fall 2026
  • Strong fundamentals in propulsion, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis
  • Relevant internship, co-op, and/or hands-on experience demonstrating both technical skills and leadership qualities
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs
  • Flexible and adaptable mindset
  • Self-driven with the ability to seek out requirements with minimal direction
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Qualifications

  • Desired: M.S. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering field
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
    • 3D CAD Programs
    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
    • Low-pressure fluid systems (fans, ducting, heat exchangers, capillary pumps, etc.), valves, manifolds, fittings, tubing, seals, or other fluid systems
    • Thermodynamics, fluid flow, or heat transfer analysis
    • Safety assessment and operation of pressurized test hardware
    • Machining, building, and maintaining pressurized or mechanical systems

How to prepare

We are solving challenging, new problems and need people to represent a wide variety of perspectives. Aerospace experience is not required. We value broad academic and industry experiences such as Tech, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Automotive, and more.

  • If you haven’t used a tool in a professional setting, include relevant coursework demonstrating your preparation

Pay

Base pay range for WA applicants: $81,313.00 – $113,837.85. Other site ranges may differ.

Background Check

  • Standard background check required for all positions
  • Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check required for roles that may require access to military installations
  • Additional requirements for drivers operating Commercial Motor Vehicles (e.g., Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing, vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements if applicable, hazardous materials transportation/shipping training)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Merchant Mariner Credential, including pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical, for certain job profiles
