About the Role
A Fluid Systems Engineer supports the technical implementation of fluid system design and plant programs. This hybrid position is based in Cranberry Township, PA, typically requiring on-site work 2 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Identify problems and propose solutions for assigned or innovated projects and tasks.
- Plan and implement complex training programs to develop business in plant programs.
- Collaborate with engineering personnel to set objectives and resolve design, analysis, and program efforts.
- Communicate work status to technical leads and management.
- Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials and justify services and product designs.
- Make data-based decisions, work independently, and communicate with plant management, WEC staff, and stakeholders.
- Promote a Safety Conscious Work Environment (SCWE) and Westinghouse’s strong Nuclear Safety Culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear preferred).
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Beneficial knowledge of systems such as Emergency Core Cooling, Chemical & Volume Control, Residual Heat Removal, Reactor Coolant, and Containment Spray.
- Experience with MOV, AOV Valves.
- Proficiency with MathCad, MATLAB, VBA, or similar programs.
- Familiarity with testing and testing analysis.
- Familiarity with ASME Section III.
- Familiarity with fluid system and thermal-hydraulic design (e.g., pump, valve, heat-exchanger sizing, fluid network analyses).
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $58,400 to $73,000 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
