FLS/I&C Sr. Project Engineer - (Owner's Representative) - Semiconductor Construction

The Fire and Gas Life Safety Project Manager serves as the Owner’s Representative responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing Fire, Gas, and Life Safety systems across active semiconductor manufacturing campuses. This role combines technical expertise in life safety systems with project management oversight, controls awareness, and stakeholder coordination to ensure systems are compliant, reliable, and operationally sound in a high‑hazard, mission‑critical environment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience5+ years of experience in Fire Life Safety Systems, Fire & Gas systems, or Life Safety Systems, including project management responsibilityExperience working in semiconductor, laboratory, or biopharmaceutical facilities strongly preferredDemonstrated experience managing FLSS-related projects across construction, tool installation, and sustaining operationsWorking knowledge of control systems and PLC-based architectures supporting Fire & Gas Life Safety systems in an industrial environmentProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project for reporting, tracking, and stakeholder communicationStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve system or project risks Duties And Responsibilities Serve as the Owner’s Representative for Fire, Gas, and Life Safety Systems across semiconductor campus construction and operationsProvide project management oversight for FLSS-related sustaining work, tool installations, and construction projectsManage system capacity, reliability, uptime, and documentation required to safely operate life safety systemsOversee Fire/Evacuation, Early Warning Smoke Detection, Liquid Leak Detection, Tool Annunciation Systems (TAS), and Hazardous Production Material (HPM) alarm and detection systemsCoordinate FLSS scopes across facilities, construction, tool install, and operations teamsAct as the primary liaison for FLSS-related operational and project-driven customer requestsProvide oversight and coordination of PLC-based control systems supporting HPM and TAS functions, including interface awareness, I/O point management, and system troubleshooting in collaboration with controls engineers and vendorsSupport controls-related change management, testing, and validation activities for Fire & Life Safety systems operating within a PLC-controlled semiconductor environmentLead continuous improvement efforts related to system performance, reliability, and alarm managementMaintain ownership of Fire Life Safety Systems including HPM systems (Siemens PCS 7 S-400), Fire Alarm Systems (EST), toxic and flammable gas detection (Midas, Vertex, Honeywell), VESDA, and associated fire protection systemsCoordinate and manage preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs with vendors on weekly, monthly, and annual cycles across both campusesManage FACP and GACP testing, impairment coordination, and fire watch requestsOversee critical spares inventory for life safety systems and componentsManage campus-wide control panel monitoring, alarm response coordination, and trouble reportingEnsure document control accuracy, including verification of code-compliance testing reports and recordsParticipate in and support FLSS-related design reviews, project planning, and constructability discussionsPresent FLSS updates in daily operations, weekly tool install tracker meetings, and other stakeholder forumsSupport safety initiatives and act as a role model for safe work practices at all timesCapture lessons learned from FLSS incidents and EHS tracking systems and implement corrective actions as needed Benefits Offered Medical insuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k) retirement plan with 4% KALCON match when an employee contributes at least 5%15 days of paid time off8 paid National HolidaysReimbursement for professional licenses and certifications Submission Requirements At a minimum, the candidate’s professional resume must include the following: List of all Educational AchievementsList of all Professional Licenses or CertificatesList of Awards ReceivedDetailed Employment History with each company including:Name & Contact Information of the firm or agencyStart Date and End Date (Month & Year)Positions Held At KALCON we are committed to creating an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace where every individual is respected and valued.
