Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation - Patient Support Volunteer (Palm Coast)

The FCS Foundation is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization founded in 2011 and located at 5204 Paylor Lane in Sarasota, Florida. The FCS Foundation assists cancer patients across the state of Florida. Due to the generosity of the Florida Cancer Specialists partner physicians in covering all overhead expenses for the Foundation, 100% of donations received go directly towards paying the essential non-medical living expenses of an adult battling cancer.

Responsibilities

• Offer a snack or beverage to a patient
• Hand out warm blankets
• Share reading materials
• Talk and listen to a patient
• Wipe down the infusion chairs
• Help support the nurses with re-stocking

Requirements

• Minimum time commitment of 3 hours per week for at least six months
• Attend a mandatory Policies & Requirements virtual orientation
• Complete a criminal history check and drug/nicotine screening
• Complete a health screening
• Tuberculosis (TB) testing and Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella immunizations or approved exemption are required
• Influenza vaccine is required annually (August 1 through March 31)
