FLORAL/DESIGNER

About the role

Design and/or merchandise floral items and arrangements for display or sale, or in response to customer requests. Provide customer service while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Design and create floral arrangements and other items to fill customer orders.
• Greet customers, offer assistance, take and fill orders.
• Package orders cheerfully, effectively, safely, and efficiently.
• Keep the department area clean and free from clutter.
• Maintain merchandise and supplies in their proper areas.
• Provide good customer and associate relations.
• Maintain customer records and files properly.
• Assist customers in locating and selecting items.
• Handle telephone calls and Florist Transworld Delivery orders promptly and courteously.
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly in maintaining a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
• Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding associate records.
• Florist Transworld Delivery certification requires three years of full-time retail design experience or six years of part-time retail design experience.
• Floral Design School education equals six months of full-time retail design experience.
• Demonstrated aptitude for filling customer needs and designing floral arrangements.
• Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
• Able to calmly, courteously, and tactfully handle stressful situations while making a positive impression on associates and customers.
