FLORAL/DESIGNER

Responsibilities

• Design and merchandise floral items and arrangements for display, sale, or in response to customer requests.
• Provide customer service, greeting customers, offering assistance, taking and filling orders.
• Package orders cheerfully, effectively, safely, and efficiently.
• Keep the department area clean and free from clutter; maintain merchandise and supplies in their proper locations.
• Maintain customer records and files properly.
• Assist customers in locating and selecting items.
• Handle telephone calls and Florist Transworld Delivery orders promptly and courteously.
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department.
• Provide good customer, associate, and employee relations.
• Communicate effectively with customers and associates; make a neat, clean impression on customers.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, especially regarding a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
• Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Demonstrated aptitude for fulfilling customer needs and designing floral arrangements.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidentiality regarding associate records.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
• Capability to handle stressful situations calmly, courteously, and tactfully while making a positive impression on associates and customers.
• Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
• Florist Transworld Delivery certification requires either three years full‑time retail design experience or six years part‑time retail design experience.
• Completion of a Floral Design School program counts as six months full‑time retail design experience.

Schedule

Willing to work weekends and holidays.
