Flooring Installation Expert & Trainer
About the role
Tarkett is looking for a Flooring Installation Expert and Trainer to join our talented team in Texas. You'll be the technical expert customers trust on-site, the trainer who certifies the next generation of installers, and the go-to problem solver when a flooring installation doesn't go as planned — with the freedom of a job that's never (seldom) behind a desk.
You'll investigate claims, install and demo premium soft-surface products (POWERBOND, broadloom, carpet tile) and run hands-on certification exams for installers across the country. If you like variety, autonomy, and being the expert in the room, this position is for you.
Responsibilities
- Solve real problems — by phone, email, and in person, for customers across product, installation, site conditions, and maintenance.
- Investigate claims in the field — across the U.S. and Canada, documenting findings with photos, samples, and clear reports within 48 hours.
- Install and demo — soft-surface products at training sessions, trade shows, mock-ups, and field tests.
- Run certification training — teach, test, and certify installers in POWERBOND and broadloom techniques.
- Support the sales team — traveling with Account Executives on customer visits, providing technical credibility on sales calls (50–75% of your time).
Requirements
- Hands-on flooring installation experience— POWERBOND, woven/tufted broadloom, required
- Comfort troubleshooting in the field and explaining technical issues to non-technical people
- Confidence teaching and presenting to a room — you'll be running exams, not just installs
- Intermediate MS Office skills;
- Exceptional communication skills; bilingual a plus, not required
- A valid driver's license and genuine willingness to be on the road/in the air regularly
