About the role
As a Floor Technician, you will perform floor maintenance, restoration, and operate industrial floor care equipment at assigned locations. Responsibilities may vary based on client requirements and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a friendly, efficient, and positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
- Anticipates and responds to customer needs.
- Uses proper procedures for hard floor care, including stripping & refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing, adhering to principles of hard surface floor maintenance.
- Performs proper procedures for carpet and upholstery care, including shampooing, damp surface cleaning, extractions, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
- Operates industrial floor care equipment as assigned and according to schedule for cleaning large floor surfaces.
- Performs maintenance and restorative processes for all types of floor surfaces.
- Properly processes municipal solid waste (MSW), infectious, and pharmaceutical waste, including rendering infectious waste as MSW.
- Removes trash, recyclables, soiled linen, used supplies, and equipment from assigned work areas.
- Disinfects receptacles and carts as needed.
- Follows all Aramark safety, sanitation, and infection control standards and procedures as required by accredited local agencies.
- Adheres to all Aramark appearance standards and wears the required uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet commitments.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role, with knowledge of floor care equipment and its use, is preferred.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication and perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
- May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
