Floor Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring optimum property floor cleanliness and presentation. This is an overnight position scheduled to work 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Cleaning, maintaining, and repairing all floors throughout Main and auxiliary buildings.
• Cleaning, sweeping, mopping, buffing, waxing, vacuuming, or shampooing all required flooring.
• Refinishing by removing old flooring, preparing surfaces for new flooring, and installing new floor materials and or floor chemicals.
• Operating equipment such as auto scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors and other machines.
• Maintaining equipment and ensuring that supplies are clean and in good condition.
• Moving furniture, appliances or equipment and performing light window and wall cleaning.
• Following the checklists and guidelines for efficient and clean operation of assigned areas.
• Keeping an inventory of equipment for each floor area.
• Keeping log of schedules for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Aids in the maintenance of all storage areas, equipment maintenance, and chemical labeling.
• Monitoring equipment condition and using all equipment correctly to ensure that it is properly maintained.
• Attending and participating in pre-shift briefings, arriving on time.
• Adhering to OSHA and Hazardous Communications safe work practices.
• Resolving problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommending courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Abilities

• Ability to multitask in a high-volume hospitality environment.
• Excellent guest services skills for external and internal guests.

Education And Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to six months of experience in related field.
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid racing license.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• The Team Member will be required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• The Team Member may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
• The Team Member may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and vibration.
• The Team Member may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, flashing lights, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and guest volume.
