Floor Technician

Floor Tech / EVS Technician position in a long-term care and rehabilitation facility in Jacksonville.

About the role

Under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, the Floor Tech / EVS Technician maintains floors throughout the facility and assists with general housekeeping duties in resident rooms and common areas. Your work directly contributes to a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where residents can heal, thrive, and feel at home.

Responsibilities

• Dust and wet mop floors in hallways, entryways, and common areas
• Strip, wax, and buff floors according to cleaning schedules
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment properly
• Inspect equipment for proper functioning and report any issues
• Clean equipment after each use
• Assist with cleaning resident rooms and assigned areas as needed
• Follow all infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures

Requirements

• Experience in floor care, housekeeping, or environmental services (EVS) preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude with patience and reliability
• Ability to work with elderly and disabled populations
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Pay

$12.75–$17.65/hour (based on experience)
