Job Description

Starting salary: $16.78 per hour

Available shifts: 06:00am or 11:00am; 05:00am to 10:00am

Responsibilities

• Perform spot removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, stripping/waxing, scrubbing/repainting, sealing/grouting, etc.
• Scrub, buff, clean, and repair carpeted and non-carpeted areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals
• Clean floors and stairs by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
• Move furniture and large objects when necessary and follow safety guidelines to prevent injury to self or others
• Keep the janitorial closet neat, clean, and organized
• Follow manufacturer specifications for preparing chemicals and using equipment
• Ensure building doors and windows are secure and closed
• Report to supervisor about needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring additional service
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Lift and move containers up to 49 pounds each
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and chemical safe handling sheets/documents (generally in English; may be in Spanish when required by state)
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing between 15 and 25 pounds
• Bend, lift, stretch, and reach for objects regularly both below waist and above head
• Develop full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
• Ability to climb ladders and walkways safely and without limitations
• Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (pedals), manual (chopping, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist movement (repetitive bending/rotation)

Qualifications

• Ability to operate and use cleaning tools, equipment, and supplies preferred but not required
• One year of previous floor care experience preferred
