Floor Technician

Responsibilities

• Clean and care for a variety of floor surfaces using appropriate methods.
• Operate floor care machines such as buffers, auto-scrubbers, carpet extractors, burnishers, and vacuums.
• Perform advanced floor care services including stripping old wax or finish, applying new coatings, buffing for shine, and deep-cleaning carpets.
• Follow safety guidelines and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work independently or with a team to complete daily floor care duties and larger cleaning projects.
• Keep floors free of spills, dirt, and slip hazards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience working as a commercial floorcare technician, janitor, or similar role.
• Experience using floor care machines like buffers, auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.
• Knowledge of floor types and how to clean and maintain each properly.
• Valid Real ID.
• Able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Physical & Environmental Demands

• Stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift.
• Use hands and arms for repetitive tasks.
• Lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to clean under furniture or along baseboards.
• Operate heavy-duty floor care equipment.
• Maintain good vision and hearing.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Be exposed to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants.
• Navigate around furniture, equipment, and people in shared workspaces.
