Floor Tech Full Time evenings
Summary Of Position
The Floor Technician plays an integral role in the success of our team, our community, and creating a place our residents are proud to call home. The primary purpose of this position is to perform the daily activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Executive Director, and/or the Director of Housekeeping, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
Essential Job Functions
- Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Cookinate daily floor care services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
- Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
- Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
- Dispose of refuse and personal protective equipment in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies to perform daily tasks is maintained in utility/janitorial closets.
- Put supplies away when order comes to appropriate closet.
- Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested, including furniture moving.
- Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are always safely stored, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, mealtimes, and end of the workday.
- Perform daily housekeeping functions and tasks as assigned including floor care/extracting functions.
- Able to use appropriate floor cleaning machinery such as extractors, side-by-sides, and PPE.
- Able to read and understand PH scale, SDS sheets, and work with high PH chemicals or cleaners.
Knowledge And Critical Skills
- Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
- Deal tactfully with personnel, prospects, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
- Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
- Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
- Knowledge/proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education And Experience
- Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
- Floor care experience preferred.
- No supervisory responsibility.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
- Physical Activities: Must be able to lift fifty pounds at times. Alternating between standing and sitting.
- Cognitive Activities: Execute tasks independently. Ability to express yourself clearly and effectively. General computer literacy.
- Environmental Requirements: An individual in this position may be exposed to: Ambient room temperatures and lighting. Blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.
