Responsibilities
- Serve as a supervisor, trainer, and inspector for assigned staff.
- Avoid guest complaints by anticipating and responding promptly to their needs.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of work areas.
- Monitor and update room statuses, including checking for discrepant rooms and verifying DND rooms.
- Ensure staff attendance and report any late or absent associates.
- Coordinate breaks for staff and communicate any changes to assignments.
- Inspect supply levels and mechanical issues in room attendants' carts.
- Inspect rooms cleaned by assigned staff and direct corrections.
- Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and report urgent repairs to engineering.
- Conduct training sessions and provide feedback on staff performance.
- Report and counsel on disciplinary problems and participate in associate counseling.
- Document pertinent information in REX and Opera systems and complete closing duties.
- Review and update out-of-order status rooms, conduct night counts, and complete PM reports.
Qualifications
- Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
- Two years of experience as a Room Attendant or Supervisor.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, MIPP requirements, and equipment use.
- Understanding of proper chemical handling.
- Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- Prioritization and organizational skills.
- Calm thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Following directions thoroughly.
- Understanding of guest service needs.
- Teamwork and minimal supervision skills.
- Maintaining confidentiality of guest information and hotel data.
- Ability to identify training needs and provide training.
- Ability to input and access information in property management systems/computers.
