Floor Staff
Regal Cinemas at City North in Chicago is looking for part-time cast members who are passionate about movies and want to be part of delivering the best possible service, cleanliness, and movie-going experience to guests in a diverse, fun, energetic, and engaging environment.
About the role
Floor Staff / Cast Members are the face of Regal and will provide guest service by selling tickets, concessions, and/or working as an usher. Availability to work weekends is required; weekday opening and/or closing availability is preferred.
Floor Staff team members are classified based on individual theatre needs and/or employee availability as variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, or full-time hourly employees. Their primary responsibility is ensuring guests receive exceptional service. Floor Staff may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher.
Responsibilities
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Handling of emergency situations when called upon
- General cleaning duties
- Compliance with company dress code
Box Office
- Operating POS system, including handling and ensuring accuracy of cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redeemed discount tickets, passes, and coupons
- Upselling/suggestive selling of Premium Viewing Experience (3D, RPX, IMAX)
- Promoting the Regal Crown Club program
- Ensuring tickets are sold in accordance with the MPAA rating system and company policy
- Responding to phone calls and guest questions in line with guest service philosophy
Concession
- Operating POS system, including handling and ensuring accuracy of cash drawer, credit cards, travelers’ checks, gift cards, and redeemed coupons, as well as concession stock inventory
- Promoting the Regal Crown Club program
- Operating, preparing, and cleaning all concession-related equipment
- Upselling/suggestive selling
- Complying with all local, state, and federal food safety laws
- Ensuring required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable
Usher
- Tearing tickets, collecting and depositing appropriate stubs, and directing patrons to their auditoriums
- Inspecting backpacks and packages when applicable
- Managing crowd control and assisting guests in finding seats
- Enforcement of MPAA rating system
- Conducting in-theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, watch for film and content theft, and maintain a safe environment
- Reporting problems, discrepancies, or unusual situations to management
- Performing in-auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed by management
- Cleaning auditoriums at the end of scheduled shows and maintaining clean restrooms, lobby areas, hallways, and other areas outside of the auditorium
- Monitoring the cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment
- Assisting with all opening and closing duties as assigned by management
Requirements
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities)
- Completion of cast certification program as a cast member and as box office cashier, or progress toward completion
- If assigned duties include selling/serving alcohol, completion of legally required state or local training and certification, as well as Regal Entertainment Responsible Beverage Server training
- Good public speaking skills, effective listening, and clear, direct responses
- Ability to perform calculations with speed and accuracy, and identify and correct errors
- Strong reasoning ability to identify problems, gather relevant data, recognize alternatives, and reach evidence-based conclusions
- Ability to take action beyond what is necessarily called for and perform under pressure and/or opposition
- Excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management
- Ability to establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve desired objectives
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- May occasionally be required to lift up to 60 pounds
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Pay
$17.05 per hour
