About the Role

Floor Staff team members are classified based on individual theatre needs and/or employee availability as either variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, or full-time hourly employees. The primary responsibility is ensuring guests receive exceptional service. Floor Staff may be scheduled to work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher. This role offers opportunities for upward movement and increased responsibilities.

Floor Staff must act as representatives of Regal, adhering to our mission statement and policies, including regular and consistent attendance, handling emergency situations, performing general cleaning duties, and complying with the company dress code.

Responsibilities

Concession

  • Operate POS system, handling cash drawer, credit cards, traveler’s checks, gift cards, and redeemed coupons with accuracy
  • Manage concession stock inventory
  • Promote the Regal Crown Club program
  • Operate, prepare, and clean all concession-related equipment
  • Upsell and use suggestive selling techniques
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety laws
  • Adhere to federal and state laws regarding breaks and/or meal periods
  • Maintain required alcohol certification and training where applicable
  • If assigned to sell/serve alcohol, must be of legal age according to state or local laws

Usher

  • Direct patrons to their auditoriums
  • Inspect backpacks and packages when applicable
  • Manage crowd control and assist guests in finding seats
  • Enforce the MPAA rating system
  • Conduct in-theatre inspections to monitor picture and sound quality, prevent film and content theft, and maintain a safe environment
  • Report problems, discrepancies, or unusual situations to management
  • Perform in-auditorium concession auxiliary sales as directed by management
  • Clean auditoriums after scheduled shows and maintain clean restrooms, lobby, hallways, and other areas
  • Monitor the cleanliness and operation of theatre vending equipment
  • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Complete the cast certification program as a cast member and as a box office cashier, or progress toward completion
  • If assigned to sell/serve alcohol, complete any legally required state or local training and obtain the required certificate, as well as complete the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training
  • Good public speaking skills, effective listening, and clear, direct responses
  • Ability to perform calculations with speed and accuracy, and identify and correct errors
  • Interest or experience in marketing, decorating, or creative hobbies is a plus
  • Strong reasoning ability to identify problems, gather relevant data, and evaluate information to reach evidence-based conclusions
  • Ability to take action beyond what is necessarily called for and perform under pressure or opposition
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers, and management
  • Ability to establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve objectives
