Floor Person VB - Marination Line 1 - NS

About the Role

Ensures product is promptly removed from all floor areas, keeping floor and drains clear of condemned product according to USDA, OSHA, and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Locate and promptly remove condemned products near major walkways, drains, and standing water.
• Deliver condemned product to the designated container.
• Clean floors using a handheld water broom as required.
• Monitor and maintain the free flow of all drains in the production area.
• Participate as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
• Attend team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes.
• Identify areas lacking cohesiveness, bring them to the team leader’s attention, and work toward resolution.
• Reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies).
• Understand the role in supporting these systems and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Physical Activities

• Occasional stair and ladder climbing, pushing/pulling.
• Frequent twisting of the neck and waist, kneeling, simple grasping.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Constant walking and standing, bending at the neck and waist, squatting.
• Fine manipulation/feeling with the hands, reaching below shoulder level.
• Repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms, and hands.
• Use of vision in a plant environment.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Standard waterproof gloves and sleeves.
• Hearing protection.

Industry Experience

Working knowledge of a processing facility.
