Floor Person

About the Role

Responsible for all molding machine operator floor support duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding machines (Operator Breaks).
• Clip, trim, visually inspect and package quality products as required in the documented instructions.
• Ensure proper housekeeping by clearing and cleaning the workspace.
• Complete all paperwork pertaining to production neatly and correctly following all quality standards.
• Perform checks and compare parts with the QA samples.
• Monitor, record and report all scrap.
• Assist molders during machine changes as needed.
• Perform inspection of machine to identify potential malfunctions.
• Utilize IQMS to understand schedule, provide correct materials, and produce labels.
• Set up operator workstations per next production order.
• Willing and able to obtain a fork truck permit to move materials as needed.
• Responsible for following all established Vaupell policies, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Manufacturing (injection molding) experience very helpful.
• Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
• Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment including steel toe shoes.
• Understand basic math.
• Computer skills—ability to learn IQMS software a must.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail is very important.
• Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).

Environmental Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for the majority of the workday; frequently handle materials, use finger dexterity, coordinate hand and eye movements, hear ordinary workplace sounds, and use near and far vision, depth perception, color perception, and keyboarding skills. The employee must be able to bend at the waist, reach above and below shoulder level, lift, carry, and push up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis, and occasionally lift, carry, or push 25 to 50 pounds. The role may also require occasional sitting, climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, kneeling, crawling, grasping, pulling, and turning or twisting. Monday through Friday, 3pm to 11pm.
