Floor Finisher

Responsible for floor refinishing, carpet shampooing/extraction, ceiling cleaning, and wall washing in accordance with the standard procedures of the housekeeping department and the hospital’s objectives.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Three (3) months prior experience with floor refinishing and carpet cleaning equipment and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Performs cleaning functions in assigned area following established schedule and using prescribed methods.
- Scrubs and strips all soil or finish down to the base tile.
- Accounts for the cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned project areas and ensures projects or schedules are completed on time.
- Follows instructions from supervisors to ensure all areas pass inspection.
- Analyzes floor conditions and administers proper cleaning techniques to ensure proper appearance and protect surfaces being serviced.
- Observes and reports any deficiencies of equipment or furniture.
- Performs cleaning duties in locked medication rooms; reports any unsecured medications to a licensed professional.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
Working Environment
The work environment includes exposure to environmental factors and infection control issues. Maintains a safe environment.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
- Possesses the ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
- Demonstrates knowledge of chemical mixing and stripping.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows correct chain of command in handling challenges and issues, including crisis situations.
- Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and meet work schedules, including integrating multiple factors that may impact patient care.
