Floop Operator - 2nd Shift
About the role
Working in a manufacturing setting that may include dust and debris and can be loud at times. Perform various tasks involved in Coil Loading operation including but not limited to setting up and operating machines, handling parts and materials, packing parts and other related activities using hand tools, various type of packing materials. Must follow all applicable safety procedures to avoid injuries including requests for help from co-workers. Proper handling of finished parts and products to avoid injuries or damage, follow all operational instructions when operating or using tools and equipment. Provide quality checks as determined.
Responsibilities
- Assembles, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.
- Uses a machine operated welder to create continuity between new and (WIP) product.
- Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units.
- Uses forklift/ overhead crane to restock metal coils.
- Maintains proficiency of machine performance and ensures continuity in the manufacturing process.
- Completes low level maintenance to ensure machine capability.
- Takes measurements of material to ensure material is meeting specification.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating machinery.
- Able to follow instructions and learn the production process.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks.
Education and Experience
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Hi-Lo Certification preferred, will be trained, and certified on the hi-lo.
- One year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Talk and hear.
- Regularly stand, walk, and/or sit.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment.
- Lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must wear required hearing and/or eye protection.
