Scope of Responsibilities
- Floates to assigned stores within the area to help cover Pharmacy Departments.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department.
- Affords assistance in the training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Job Summary
Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice as it relates to the provision of the highest quality health care service to our customers.
Job Duties
- Follows the Kinney Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and counsel patients.
- Performs all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed.
- Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
- Follows all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
- Oversees the initial submission, resubmission and collection of all third party claims.
- Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to provide for maximum turns while still remaining in-stock for customer needs.
- Oversees the transmitting, processing and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed.
- Oversees the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of all returns.
- Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
- Ensures in-store pharmacy technology is being used to its fullest potential to allow for a maximum return on investment of the technology and life span.
- Ensures outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times.
- Affords assistance in the implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising and promotional programs are fully executed and implemented.
- Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
- Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions.
- Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information.
- Affords assistance in facilitating communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
- Affords assistance in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines.
- Affords assistance in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
- Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum: BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy.
- Special Conditions of Employment:
- Drug test
- Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring
- Any and all additional eligibility requirements based on the specific position
Job Requirements
- Possesses and maintains a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment and/or random drug screening test.
- Certified Immunizer.
- Must be able to travel between stores to cover within an assigned area as scheduled.
Job Skills Required

- Strong Organizational skills.
- Basic keyboarding skill.
Compensation
$125,000- $135,000 per year.
