Floating Pharmacist

Scope of Responsibilities

• Floates to assigned stores within the area to help cover Pharmacy Departments.
• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department.
• Affords assistance in the training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

Job Summary

• Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice as it relates to the provision of the highest quality health care service to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Follows the Kinney Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and counsel patients.
• Performs all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed.
• Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
• Follows all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
• Oversees the initial submission, resubmission and collection of all third party claims.
• Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to provide for maximum turns while still remaining in-stock for customer needs.
• Oversees the transmitting, processing and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed.
• Oversees the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of all returns.
• Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
• Ensures in-store pharmacy technology is being used to its fullest potential to allow for a maximum return on investment of the technology and life span.
• Ensures outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times.
• Affords assistance in the implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising and promotional programs are fully executed and implemented.
• Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
• Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions.
• Maintains an awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields that relate to job responsibilities and integrates them into own practice.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information.
• Affords assistance in facilitating communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
• Affords assistance in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines.
• Affords assistance in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
• Interface with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum: BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy.
• Special Conditions of Employment: Drug test, Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring, Any and all additional eligibility requirements based on the specific position.

Job Requirements

• Possesses and maintains a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment and/or random drug screening test.
• Certified Immunizer.
• Must be able to travel between stores to cover within an assigned area as scheduled.

• Basic keyboarding skill.

Compensation

$125,000- $135,000 per year.
