Floating Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Medical Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform selected clinical support and administrative duties.
• Assist medical providers as part of the clinical care team.
• Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts.
• Confer with physicians regarding incomplete patient test/consults or other incomplete orders.
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
• Clean and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
• Give injections, draw blood, assist with EKGs, OB/GYN exams, and other patient care services.
• Maintain sample medication records and administer medication upon physician order.
• Prepare and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
• Triage and respond to patient communications according to practice policies.
• Participate in professional development activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school in Medical Assistance or Nursing.
• Current registration as a Medical Assistant or South Carolina Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• One year experience in medical, surgical nursing or other area of specialty.
