Responsibilities

• Protect the physical and mental health and safety of our children and ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised.
• Provide an organized learning environment that promotes healthy development and skill growth aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
• Implement prescribed curricula to offer developmentally appropriate learning experiences in various subjects and integrate child assessment data in individual and group planning.
• Support screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluations of children’s developmental levels and progress.
• Engage parents and family members in their child’s development and program services through parent conferences, home visits, and group activities.
• Follow appropriate practices to keep children safe during all activities, including reporting suspected or known child abuse and neglect, and ensuring proper supervision.
• Participate in staff development, including completing minimum training requirements, continuing professional development, and staff wellness initiatives.
• Support classroom activities as directed by the teacher and assist with transitions to and from the classroom.
• Organize and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment, supporting teachers in maintaining up-to-date information on student behavior and progress.
• Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or GED, Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, previous early childcare experience preferred.
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish).
• Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to respond sensitively and competently to diverse populations, communicate effectively in English and Spanish, maintain emotional control, and adhere to Innovative Network of Knowledge policies and procedures.

Skills

• Positive adult-child interactions as measured by the CLASS Pre-K instrument.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of state and federal standards for training and professional development.
