Duties
- Scan procedure reports
- Aid with recalls
- Calculate procedure costs
- File documentation into eCW system
- Perform front desk duties
- Ensure patient has current referral on date of service
- Obtain referral if necessary
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility
- Collect all applicable co-payment, coinsurance, deductible or outstanding balance from the patient
- Post all payments collected
- Research & assist patients with questions regarding balances
- Triage patient
- Take vitals
- Enter chief complaint, past & present history into EMR system
- Enter all current medications and prescriptions into EMR system
- Ensure patient charts are complete and required records are requested
- Call-in new prescriptions and refills and obtain authorization if necessary
- Schedule all procedures
- Obtain all authorizations for procedures and tests
- Check-out patients at the end of their visit
- Provide next step instructions
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years experience as a medical assistant or similar setting (AAMA certification preferred)
- Medical terminology knowledge required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) (Preferred)
- eClinicalWorks (eCW): 1 year (Preferred)
- Gastrointestinal (GI) Experience desired
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years experience as a medical assistant or similar setting (AAMA certification preferred)
- Medical terminology knowledge required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) (Preferred)
- eClinicalWorks (eCW): 1 year (Preferred)
- Gastrointestinal (GI) Experience desired
