Floater/Assistant Teacher

About the Role

Grand Avenue Preschool and Daycare in Burr Ridge is a licensed childcare center seeking a Floater and Assistant Teacher to support our Toddler classroom.

Requirements

• High school diploma OR GED
• Ability to pass all background checks
• Previous childcare experience
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role

Schedule

Monday - Friday, Full-time, 8am-5pm OR 9am-6pm

Compensation

$17 - $20/hour, based on education and experience

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center
• Implement activities that encourage each child's growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children
