About the role
We are a global leader in food & beverage ingredients, supplying products and ingredients at scale to help customers create naturally good food & beverage products. The “Floater” position works across multiple production roles, tending to machinery that processes peanuts. This role is performed on-site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts, with routine exposure to peanuts and related allergens in the environment. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with production start-up and shutdown, set operating equipment controls, and adjust settings to meet customer specifications on finished product.
- Perform quality checks throughout the shift to determine accuracy of control settings and ensure customer specifications are met.
- Record process data accurately and in a timely manner for each lot processed; maintain legible, clean, and neat records.
- Clean area of responsibility and equipment throughout the shift, ensuring the area is clean at shift change.
- Notify Senior Processing Tech or Shift Supervisors of any equipment shutdowns or quality issues with processed or produced product.
- Help ensure product meets or exceeds customer specifications.
- Perform job functions in accordance with GMP Rules, Sanitation, Safety, and FMSA/HACCP Programs to maintain product quality.
Work Environment
- Subject to outside environmental conditions, fumes, odors, dusts, and mists.
- Exposure to hazards such as moving mechanical parts and chemicals on a regular basis.
- Routine work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present, with potential exposure by contact or through the air.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
- Understand written and oral communications and instructions.
- Initiative and self-starting ability.
