Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Float to two or more units based on need and maintain competency to practice in all assigned units.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care.
• Be directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients on an assigned unit.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in the patient’s condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Able to float to two or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.
