Float Radiology Tech, Outpatient Surgery Centers

About the Role

This is a PRN float position that requires travel between multiple outpatient surgery centers within the Phoenix West Valley. We operate Monday through Friday with no weekends and no call. A minimum commitment of 4 shifts per month is required, offering flexible scheduling through easy-to-use software and a personal staffing office.

Responsibilities

• Performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure optimal patient care.
• Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policies and procedures.
• Educates patients and families regarding procedures, risks, and prevention.
• Demonstrates professional behavior, fosters teamwork, and ensures efficient use of resources for quality patient outcomes.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares/presents them with pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
• Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
• Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements; troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors while adhering to safety policies.
• Upholds ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice, including confidentiality.
• Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and materials to ensure non-interruption of services.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
• Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program.
• National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and state licensure if applicable.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
• Effective communication skills, human relations skills, and the ability to analyze data and solve problems.

Physical Demands

• Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
• Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly to unexpected patient care needs.
• Adequate hearing and visual acuity, including color vision.
• Fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.
• Use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in/out of bed, chair, or wheelchair.
• May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must use standard precautions due to exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
• Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone.
• Periodic use of a personal computer.
