About the role

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge Nurse) in the Float Pool at HCA HealthONE Mountain Ridge, you will exemplify professional nursing practice through expert clinical practice, strong leadership skills, and management activities. You will provide clinical management to the department by coordinating patient care activities, procedures, and the flow of patients between various units. You will serve as a resource to the nursing staff and mentor them in developing nursing skills and practice.

• Supervise personnel providing direct patient care, delegating activities based on patient needs and staff competencies.
• Provide direct and ongoing supervision of staff regarding conflict resolution and personnel policy compliance, including disciplinary actions.
• Teach, supervise, and serve as a resource for staff; assist with clinical procedures as needed.
• Facilitate ongoing performance improvement activities aligned with the Hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program, involving all levels of staff on the designated shift.
• Make assignments for the present or following shift to ensure smooth transitions and cover changing patient needs and staff availability.
• Self-assign patients and functions as necessary based on patient needs and available resources on the unit.

Requirements

• Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for critical care units; other specialty certifications preferred as required by units.
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or actively pursuing with completion within 3 years of hire.
• Two years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of the acute care unit and three years of experience for critical care units.
• One to two years of progressive supervisory, charge, or leadership nurse experience preferred.
