Float Pharmacist
The Opportunity
Vaughn Vital Care is building an internal team of flexible, clinically excellent pharmacists who keep our growing network of infusion pharmacy sites safely staffed, no matter what comes up. As a Float Pharmacist, you'll step into sites across our regional footprint for planned and unplanned absences, demand surges, seasonal peaks, and new site activations, carrying the same high practice standard everywhere you go.
What You'll Do
Provide full pharmacist coverage: order review and clinical verification, sterile and hazardous compounding oversight, dispensing, and patient and clinician consultation, applying USP , USP , and DEA standards consistently at every site.
Ramp up quickly at each assignment by reviewing the site's coverage brief and key workflows, and run a clean handoff in and out of every deployment so nothing gets dropped.
Earn trust fast with each site's pharmacists, technicians, nurses, and Clinical Operations Manager. You're a respectful guest and a dependable colleague — never an outside auditor.
Honor every assignment you accept, flex to changes in location, schedule, or therapy line within fair limits, and keep your credentials and training current so you're always ready to deploy.
What You'll Bring
Active Pharmacist license in good standing (willingness to obtain additional state licensure if the footprint requires it)
Pharmacist practice experience, with infusion, specialty, home-infusion, or hospital sterile-compounding experience strongly preferred
Working command of USP , USP , sterile-compounding practice, and pharmacy regulatory requirements
Demonstrated adaptability across settings or teams, with the interpersonal skill to build credibility quickly with people who didn't hire you
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly across the region, with occasional overnight stays
Strong organization, clear communication, and a patient-safety-first orientation under changing conditions
Preferred
PharmD
Multi-site, float, relief, or PRN experience
Biologic and specialty infusion exposure across multiple therapy lines
Comfort working across multiple pharmacy information systems
