Float Medical Assistant

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

Up to one year experience in a medical setting with certification as a Medical Assistant, or equivalent training and experience, is preferred.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• BLS certification

Physical Demands

• Standing/walking for up to eight hours/day
• Bending, stooping, twisting
• Assisting patients in turning, arising from exam table, pushing wheelchair patients, and returning to wheelchair
• Lifting without assistance
• Responding in person to patient emergencies
• Standing without interruption for extended periods of time
• Reaching for patient care or retrieval of supplies
• Capable of working under stress related to multiple patient care demands
