Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant provides front and back office duties to pulmonary providers in an outpatient setting. This is a traveling position requiring reliable transportation and willingness to travel to all locations, including Mercy Downtown, Overlea, Lutherville, Reisterstown, Glen Burnie, and Ellicott City. Must have Monday and Tuesday availability.

  • Front Office Duties
    • Greet patients courteously and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
    • Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures.
    • Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or fees.
    • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information.
    • Complete patient check-in and check-out processes.
  • Back Office Duties
    • Take patient vital signs, record medical histories, and update electronic health records (EHR).
    • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of one year of experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

Specific Requirements:

  • Certification: CPR preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Experience with Meditech, Epic, Performance Manager, or NetLearning (if applicable).
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions as needed.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to interact tactfully with personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, and the public.
    • Flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively in a team.
    • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Required to travel to satellite offices.

Pay

Minimum USD $18.66/Hr. Maximum USD $30.79/Hr.
