About the role

The Float Certified Medical Assistant provides versatile clinical and administrative support across various departments, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency throughout our facilities. You will expertly triage patients, assist providers with examinations and procedures, manage patient records digitally, and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adapting to diverse settings.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a proactive, patient-centered demeanor, contributing significantly to optimal patient flow and high-quality care wherever assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or High School GED
  • May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam
  • Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience
  • Electronic health record experience

Qualifications

Pay

The posted compensation range of $18.96 - $26.78 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
