Position Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate flight test mission requirements with responsible engineers from internal and external customers
- Develop flight test and mission profiles, develop and publish test plans, create flight test cards, and manage test schedules
- Identify and coordinate the availability of test ranges and facilities with company and government agencies
- Establish test planning working groups, plan and conduct flight test readiness reviews, and conduct pre and posttest briefings
- Conduct ground and flight tests in accordance with established test plans and procedures
- Support Cost Account Manager (CAM) activities
- Lead and prepare for remote site deployments
- Develop and document standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity
- Apply lessons learned to the improvement of test procedures
- Oversee preflight and post-test briefings with the flight test team
- Formulate expectations for test data based on historical data
- Lead test team training, track training/currency qualifications, and mentor team members
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 7+ years of experience working on flight test program, preferably as a flight test engineer, test conductor, and/or test director
- 7+ years of experience with the principles of flight test OR experience directly supporting flight test operations
- 50+ missions as a Test Conductor/Test Director in a control room
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
- An active U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required)
- Experience authoring test plans and test cards in support of United States Air Force or United States Navy flight test programs
- Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)
- Experience managing or coordinating test article configuration changes on a military fighter aircraft program
