About the role
The Flight Systems Engineering Technician in Capture Systems R&D is responsible for assembling and maintaining custom camera equipment used in Eagleview's extensive fleet of imaging aircraft. This is a hands-on position working in Eagleview’s Flight Systems Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Assembly, test, and maintenance of custom camera equipment, including mechanical assembly, startup, and calibration using custom tools and software.
- Test and evaluation of aerial image quality, including identification of image quality root causes and proposal of solutions.
- Work closely with other Technicians as well as the Flight Support team to ensure that cameras are ready when needed.
- Collaborate with Development Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues raised by internal stakeholders.
- Document service history and hardware deployment in electronic asset tracking system.
- Setup and testing of new or modified custom capture hardware.
- Suggesting production process improvements.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers to improve software tools and identify bugs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Hands-on capability to build mechanical assemblies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Able to lift and move 40 pounds.
- Effective team player.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and through written correspondence.
Qualifications
- Two- or Four-year college degree in a Science, Technology, or Manufacturing related discipline preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage team goals and initiatives amidst competing priorities.
- Critical thinker with strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve.
- Familiarity with principles of digital photography and general construction of digital cameras.
- Familiarity with Python.
