Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
  • Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility.
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation.
  • Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Use and maintain all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Function as a medical flight member.
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation.
  • Aid in pre-mission liftoff checklist and assist the pilot with radio, navigational, and visual observation activities.
  • Comply with safety standards to ensure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment before liftoff.
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
  • Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Pay

$20.92 + DOE, with an additional $5 Geo Modification.
