Pay

Starting range is $21.34–$40.99 per hour, dependent on experience. $6,250–$12,500 annual area stipend.

Schedule

Two 24-hour shifts per week. Company-paid crew housing provided while on shift.

About the role

We’re hiring a Flight Paramedic to work with our team of air-transportation experts to safely transport patients to and from medical facilities as well as respond to scene calls. Safety, effective, and efficient patient care is a key pillar of our services; you’ll work on a quality, professional team committed to high safety standards for the crew and our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit electronic patient-care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
  • Perform daily base checks, including narcotic counts.
  • Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life-support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintaining thorough patient-care documentation.
  • Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
  • Document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
  • Knowledgeable in the use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
  • Function as a medical flight team member.
  • Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings, completing necessary documentation.
  • Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and provide pilot assistance when needed (e.g., radio, navigational, and visual observation activities).
  • Comply with safety standards to ensure the safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
  • Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Fill open or vacant shifts within the assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a 911 or critical-care setting required; flight experience preferred.
  • Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certification required prior to flight status.
  • Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) required within 24 months from date of hire.
  • Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in the assigned area.
