Responsibilities
- Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
- Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
- Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintaining thorough patient care documentation.
- Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
- Document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
- Maintain documentation of required equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
- Work as a medical flight member, attending pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings, completing necessary documentation, assisting in pre-mission liftoff checklist, and conducting aircraft safety briefings as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards to maintain safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
- Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and provide pilot assistance when needed, such as radio, navigational, and visual observation activities.
- Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
- Preferred: Flight Experience.
- Education: Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status. Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred, required within 24 months from date of hire.
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.
