About the role
Join our team of air transportation experts to safely transport patients to and from medical facilities as well as respond to scene calls. We prioritize safety, effective, and efficient patient care, and you’ll work with a professional team committed to high safety standards for both crew and customers.
Responsibilities
- Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
- Perform daily base checks, including narcotic counts.
- Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility, maintaining thorough documentation.
- Maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences.
- Document required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in the Employee Education Manual.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
- Serve as a medical flight team member.
- Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings, completing necessary documentation.
- Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and provide pilot assistance as needed (e.g., radio, navigational, and visual observation activities).
- Comply with safety standards to ensure the safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff.
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
- Fill open or vacant shifts within the assigned area as directed by the Regional Director.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting required.
- Flight experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certification required prior to flight status.
- Advanced Certification (FP-C) preferred; required within 24 months of hire.
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
- NREMT-P certification may be required in the assigned area.
Pay
Starting at $20.92/hour, DOE.
