Job Description
Performs and documents accurate initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical and mental status, and reports appropriate information to the responsible physician. Observes and monitors patient lab work for trends, reports abnormal lab tests, and obtains appropriate interventions. Utilizes clinical data to implement appropriate interventions and documents the plan of care involving the patient, family, and/or significant other. Demonstrates critical-thinking skills when analyzing cardiac rhythms and provides safe, competent care. Provides individualized goal-directed nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of nursing care. Prepares patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries ordered, ensuring proper documentation and communication. Administers medications accurately and appropriately, including PO, SQ, IV, IV PUSH, IVPB, IM, SL, PR, topical, and intradermal. Responds and participates in unit and hospital code situations, utilizing knowledge and experience to treat patients according to BLS and ACLS protocols. Provides competent and compassionate care to patients with pain according to policy and mission. Maintains a safe patient care environment, including following fall risk specifications and ensuring proper use of restraints. Supervises and guides permanent and temporary nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care outcomes. Communicates patient updates to physicians and receiving units, ensuring timely and accurate documentation for patient handoff and safety.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic ability to navigate Microsoft Office apps
- [Preferred] Education Associate [Preferred] Field Of Study Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program of Science degree in a health-related field
- TPATC Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course Work
- Experience 1+ year experience in either fixed-wing or rotor aircraft [Preferred]
- 5+ years continuous experience in an EMS or critical care transport system [Required]
