Flexographic Press Operator

About the role

Crane Consumables, a local, family-owned manufacturer of barcode, pricing, and packaging labels, is expanding and seeks motivated, reliable, and hard-working individuals to operate our die-cutting (flexo) presses. We prioritize candidates with mechanical aptitude, curiosity, and a strong work ethic demonstrated through stable employment history. Due to the approximately 3-month training period required to reach basic proficiency, applicants with frequent job changes or multiple short tenures may not advance in the hiring process.

Schedule

• Training Shift: 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday
• 1st Shift: 6am – 4pm, Monday – Friday
• 2nd Shift: 4pm – 2am, Monday – Thursday (includes a $2/hr shift premium)

Responsibilities

• Operate a paper flexographic press (e.g., Aztech, Rotoflex) to produce a variety of label sizes and types.
• Consistently meet safety, production rate, and quality standards.
• Change out and install tooling, and set machine components based on job specifications.
• Review work instructions for proper setup and processing of jobs.
• Support maintenance personnel in the care and preventative maintenance of machinery.
• Maintain production areas in an orderly and clean manner.
• Adhere to all safety requirements and company policies.

Requirements

• Strong work ethic and consistent past employment history.
• Excellent work performance and attendance record.
• Ability to successfully complete a drug and background check.
• Flexibility, initiative, and problem-solving/critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
• Must be 18 years or older, able to lift 50–75 lbs consistently, and stand for long periods.
• Industrial experience preferred; mechanical aptitude is a plus.
